Instagram – the world’s biggest, most popular and widely photo/video sharing app is an incredibly powerful social media app to reach people within communities. In world of marketing and advertising, Instagram has all it takes – to make or break a specific brand/company. Here in Pakistani sphere, there is one problem that is faced by every Instagrammer – how to increase ‘organic and authentic’ audience/followers?
Well, it’s easy. It doesn’t require painstaking chores, scientific equations or experiments and through this blog, we’re sharing three simple steps that you can easily follow to meet the objective – but there’s a logic/science behind it.
First, we need to understand the purpose of using Instagram. Although, there might be tons of reasons but it all comes down to four: to upload non-textual content, to be entertained, to see what’s happening around and fourth? To stalk your friends and recent crush (just kidding).
You need to notice that some of the most popular Instagram accounts are usually posting funny, highly engaging, or exciting content — that is it.
So keeping that in mind, here are three ways to get followers on Instagram without asking anybody else to “follow-for-follow” thingy cause that looks bad and weird:
- Act as active: be consistent & regular with posts.
Might sound obvious but many Instagrammers do not post enough and that is why they’re facing issues in building their follower count – whereas if you focus on Instagrammers with massive following; they’re posting all the time – be it stories, posts, videos or whatever – they just keep posting. Even if they’ve got no content to post, they will just put a random story of their tea or clouds! Right?
We conclude that in order to get noticed by people, you need to maintain an active profile on Instagram because once the content gets old; it is less likely to be found and you’re not Kim Kardashian or Prince Harry that people will be searching for you via hashtags. To sum it short, posting frequently is the key, alright?
- Days? For work, and evenings? To post and upload!
Evenings – the best time to post on Instagram. There are researches and surveys done on the ‘best timings’ to post on Instagram so we’re not shooting in the dark; it has been proven and evaluated. Because people are usually available by that time – they’re free, not doing home works or office presentations, scrolling content during tea time or laying around. Therefore, it has been observed that content that goes out on Instagram after 6PM in evening is most likely to get much better engagement and audience viewership as compared to daytime. So evening postings? More viewership and reach; which ultimately translates to gaining followers!
- Breathing in a wonderful ‘trendy’ world? Kindly follow the trends.
Aligning your content with trending topics or hashtags can considerably improve discover-ability and engagement. For example, the #KoKoKorina fiasco is a trending topic these days and everybody is just talking about it. Wonder why? They’re music critics? They’re music producers? They’re journalists? Nope. They’re using it because it is a trend – and doing so will make them noticed by a huge chunk of audience. Hence, capitalize on trends to improve your engagement rate and reach but don’t become a racehorse – completely. We don’t want you to compromise on content quality or what you do best but we want you to engage with trends in a meaningful way. You don’t want to lose followers by tapping all the trends; so just post on those trends which you know your followers would love to hear you talking about. Remember, content is king and audience? The parliament!
Until next time, adios!
